Description

Red Monastery Village is a tourist center of the Pieniny National Park. It is situated on the right bank of the Dunajec, at the mouth of the creek Lipník. Is a gateway to the national nature reserve Dunajec gap. The history of the village are tied to the monastery, which was založebý in 1319th in the monastery is a museum and the whole complex is a national monument. Before the monastery is a protected area Pieninské lime. Some of the old lime trees have a circumference of up to 6 m. Accommodation options for tourists offer two nearby campsites and tent camps with spectacular views of three crowns, which lies on the bank of the Dunajec.
